DOUG CAMERON

Sunday, March 4, 2018

3:00 PM   Doors open at 2:30

Doug Cameron has long been a favorite on jazz radio internationally. Widely considered one of the true innovators of jazz violin. He has performed internationally, and is well known for his dynamic performance and trademark blue electric violin. A veteran of the Los Angeles studio Scene, he has recorded and performed with a wide range of artists, including George Benson, Doc Severinsen, Tom Petty, Cher, Dionne Warwick, Tony Bennett. He has done recording for numerous motion pictures and commercials.

Doug Cameron is an excellent electric violinist who thus far has been content to perform mostly in the crossover and pop/jazz field. Growing up in New York, Cameron started on the violin when he was 5 years old. He mostly studied classical music up to high school, then became interested in improvising.

Road Trip

Since forming in 2006, Presidio Brass has rocketed to success as the face of a bold new generation in brass entertainment. By combining a brass quintet, piano, percussion instruments, guitar and even vocals with fresh, original arrangements, their unique sound has become a trademark for the ensemble.

Members of the Presidio Brass have performed with major symphony orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and San Diego Symphony, and have shared the stage with commercial and pop artists. When not on tour, they continue to perform with orchestras, maintain private teaching studios at local universities, arrange and compose new music, assist with public school music programs and operate an annual summer music camp for students of all ages.
